EBay boss Meg Whitman sets record spending pace in campaign for california governor

Republican Meg Whitman spent $27 million on her campaign for governor in the first 11 weeks of the year, setting a record-shattering pace with a prime-time television ad blitz to introduce herself to voters and attack her GOP opponent, according to a disclosure statement she filed Monday.

Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown, the likely Democratic nominee has conserved his money. He has spent only $142,000 this year for a small staff, consultants and office expenses, his filing shows.

who is best for california?

Not a CEO, that's for sure. She wants to win the campaign, she throws money at it. She wants something covered up, she'll throw money at it.

Gawd, Jerry Brown was governor soooo long ago

California has been an entitlement state for far too long, it needs to change that. Meg I think would do something about that, Jerry probably started that.

Charles Manson was sentenced to death, but that sentence was automatically commuted to life imprisonment when a 1972 court decision briefly eliminated the death penalty in California and canceled all death sentences pending in the state. California's eventual reinstatement of capital punishment was not retroactive; Manson is currently an inmate at Corcoran State Prison.
This is how fucked up the state is from his and his dads time running this state

California could use that $27 million I would have thought.

Looks like she is trying to demonstrate her wasting money abilities to fit nicely in.

Take a look at campaigning budgets compared to winners... I think she's off to a good start. Obviously she won't keep the pace but if you wanna play the game and win, you've gotta play big.

Voting has really come down to who you disagree with less. One day I would really like to vote for someone I truly back.

Anyone I truly back would not have a shot in hell to be elected.

idiot!

Don't you think the $27mil she spent went to companies that then paid workers etc. It's not like it went to 1 webmaster who banked all the money.

Imagine... spending millions of dollars to tell everybody that you are a good person. A millionaire politician.

I think it's possible to be a politician on a $50,000 salary, as well. A lot of advertising and campaigning can be done for free.

Just saw the latest commercial against her saying she's for amnesty for illegal aliens.
I guess the Poizner camp didn't realize that California is full of legal immigrants. They forgot to look at their base voter, LMAO
I don't know who I want to vote for now, but it's not Jerry Brown. I don't see much changing for the good with him
