Well I'm going to Hong Kong and I need to make sure that I can recharge my laptop computer. Do they use 110v there or 220v like Europe? Where can I order a converter and/or the appropriate plugs so I can plug everything in right.

Also feel free to recomend what I should do/get.

I'm going there for business, but I'll have time to do other stuff too.

As far as I can remember, HK uses 220v and the 3 pin UK plugs.

Electrical goods are dirt cheap, but check the format (NTSC/PAL) before you buy.

Watch out for the stip bars, they will rip you off BIG time and kick the shit out of you if you can`t pay.

Check out `Mad Dogs` bar - great beer and food. No sales tax

I was in Hong Kong recently. All the electricity is exactly like the UK because it used to be run by Britain and all that. The plugs are the UK type too.

I stayed at the Empire Hotel in Kowloon. I highly recommend staying there. It is a nice hotel and it is brand new. My room on the 22nd floor overlooking downtown Hong Kong was $80 USD a night, and they have high-speed internet in the rooms that you just plug your laptop into with your ethernet cable. The high-speed internet costs an extra $10 USD a day if you want it.

The service in Hong Kong is amazing, and they are among the most polite and courteous people in the world.

If you need to get around, definitely take the MTR (subway), it is cheap and very clean and will likely go to everywhere you need to go.
