personally id rather be a rich man. rich kids have no appreciation for what it takes to make decent money and im watching a few people that i know fall apart because of this.

My gramps was a millionaire.. none of his kids had to work.. He died left millions... to the kids.. 2 of my uncles have died of drug overdoses, the other is an alcoholic, and the one he left in charge of the whole estate is a compulisve gambler that goes to vegas alot.. oh yes and my mom has OD'd a couple times and is now in a mental hospital.

I think the best way to do it would be to start from $0 and then make your own business and work up to having a $1,000,000.
This way, the money you have is not charity, donations or inheritance.
The money is your own self-earned money. You also have the benefit of other business colleguages respecting you and agreeing that you have a great genius business mind that can make a successful business.
Imagine a retarded son getting a $1,000,000 cheque from his rich father. Well, the son would still be retarded, wouldn't he? What kind of life is that.
I think it's all about the mind. Business profits and numbers can prove that somebody does indeed have a talent for something. Whether it's business, employment, investments, real estate, etc.
