the fellas who setup a joint venture type of deal to acquire sex.com tried lots of stuff on SEX.COM since 2006 --- tgp, parking, clean portal for the mainstream, etc... nothing worked obviously

i always say, the domain doesnt make or break your biz.... but it does help a bit if its a targeted keyword domain

just a lil bit... ;)

but this is what happens when you drop $14m on a domain and dont got shit left for proper development and marketing.... you lose

I think it's time for whoever will own sex.com to go a different route then porn.. maybe a place that could be educational in terms of sex along with selling sex related products - books, toys and other stuff like that. The porn thing has been done over and over on that domain and obviously it never works out, well, it worked many, many years ago but not anymore.. Time to make it an educational place where people young and old can learn about sex in a more realistic way. Actual helpful info, articles etc.. etc.. Then again, I could be wrong and this may not work at all, but some sort of change is needed for whoever the new owner will be.
