It not all about tubes

We were just talking to our new billing processor today and apparently there are a bunch of banks that issue Visa cards that have blocked all high risk transactions. It all happened last year at about the same time. You probably know that high risk transactions have their own code and are easily identified.

It seems that it is not all about tubes sucking business. Anyone else heard this?

I have been saying this since the last year. Especially since moving to Zombaio where I see more details. But the flood of CCBill "failed to rebill" and "decline" emails is also been noticeable. As well as surfer's emailing me to complain they can't sign up.

Bank declines on initial sales, and on rebills, are costing more business than any tube site or other boogie man in the adult industry.

i haven't heard that and i also haven't noticed an increase in declines, i process via netbilling.

that's just my experience though, i'm not a big time player transacting 100s of sales daily.

My theory.. interest and clicks are up as well as ever. People love to surf new porn.
So they have interest outside the tubes.

Doesn't make sense that people are looking for the heck of it. Seems they do want to buy more often than is indicated and prob are being declined too damn much.

Maybe that is the real reason ratios are up last couple years. If I was betting I might go along with bf and say that is the problem today.

I joined a ccbill site a while back and had no prob. My card went thru. So that's about my expertise but, I do notice with Nats 4 you can see declines and sometimes they are up like 50% (not every month but sometimes) Should be like no declines or maybe 20% tops. But what do I know. Just smells fishy.

Here's the deal. I don't really care about ratios. I care about money in the bank. Per centages mean nothing. Income is everything. Fishy? Nope. Reality? Yes.
This Visa thing is real. Anyone who says they are "on fire" are lying or....really....really lucky. My business is doing pretty good considering, but things ain't what they used to be.

one would think...since banks are evil...that they would help our biz instead of hurting it.

Sales are DRASTICALLY lower, thats the bottom line. Much competition because of the allure of porn making everyone millionaires. This drowns out much, so what now? CCBILL and VISA are rejecting? Get alternative processors and use other country processors to your advantage, alternative billing etc. same old..

Yes and that is our main problem for today I think. My traffic grew up 6 times from January 2009, but I am still making the same ammount of money, or even less. I, with my friends tried to join several paysites using valid european and canadian VISA, MASTER card, epass and all of them were declined for some reason.

I know that many merchant account providers are hedging their portfolios and dropping much of their high risk business. I think it maybe because of Visa requirements. The worst offenders for chargebacks and risk are not porn businesses, but online travel companies. When they tank or have chargebacks, they are huge items compared to porn.

It is playing a big part. I am getting A LOT of legitimate declines on my high risk stuff. I know because they are phone or email sales, with trusted customers, that end up getting declined. Really sucks.
