What to do with all the flakes (non paying buyers) on Sedo

I don't have my whole portfolio on there. Just a handful of domains.

One domain in particular sold for 8k the first time around...and the buyer flaked. And now 10k...and it looks like this buyer is going to flake too. Sedo does give you full info of the buyer after the sale falls through. Since it is a contractual obligation that they come through with the funds. Is it even worth pursuing anything? It's more frustrating and a waste of my time and energy than anything.

Funny fact: One of the flaky buyers owns a fairly big mainstream hosting company and another site that services the creative industry.

sedo is terrible for this as they do nothing to punish someone who flakes. it will just keep happening and sedo will keep not caring.

You can always take them to court. Don't know if that's worth your time or not, though. Most people don't bother with it.

Last time the broker in charge of the sale at least made an attempt to convince the buyer to pay up...this time all of my emails and messages (in the sales panel) have gone ignored after 3 days.

I'm thinking that unless your domain name fetches in the high XX,XXX range...they don't give two shits.

I've had a buyer flake on $20k before. Per Sedo, he said he "accidentally hit an extra 0", but it was a 2-letter .net worth a fuck of a lot more than $2,000, and he had to confirm his bid before it was posted, giving him 2 looks at what he typed. I could have gone after him for sure since sales are supposedly binding there, but I just know it would have been much more headache than it was worth. Good luck if you decide to do it.

Where is the domain at? If it's not GoDaddy or a WWD reseller, I'm surprised Sedo wouldn't have had the domain put into their account to do the transfer. If it is in GD or WWD, maybe just go to Sedo and tell them you'd now rather just get it put into an account at the registrar they have it at so that then Sedo will be asking the buyer to push the domain into their account. AKA they can hound the buyer like they should be.
