The original Battlestar Galatica. I was a huge fan as a kid. I just bought the original series on DVD, and was surprised to learn there was a second series called battlestar 1980. In fact, I think this clip you showed is from the 1980 version - where they landed on earth. So I bought that too.

It's funny how horrible acting was back in the day. And the plots too.

I'd love to see a good Battlestar Galatica movie made.

think about that

Thats right! After Battlestar was canceled it was brought back a year later as Galactica 1980. It was TERRIBLE. It had an all new cast (except for Lorne Green), a smart-assed teen that was god-like and knew everything, and a bunch of 10 year old kids that had super-powers.

The only cool thing about Galactica 1980 was that sequence of the Cylons attacking LA (which turns out to be only a simulation - fuckers), and they had flying motorcycles. I think it latest for about 8 episodes only. You can watch them all except the first episode on Netflix.
