Most ultimate band of the 70's for me personally - Thin Lizzy

Starting with 1975 Fighting till 1979 Black rose that was a major streak of albums that all have my very own hall of fame status.

What they recorded before and after never had the complex feeling anymore.

I played them just yesterday and thought I must get sick after all those years - it still worked.

quoted for the ultimate truth. THIN LIZZY!!!!

RIP Lead Singer of the Knack Dude. He died recently. Supposedly the song 'My Sharona' was about his girlfriend, who ended up being a high-powered Beverly Hills Real Estate Broker. She's also apparently the model for the bitchy mom on '2 & 1/2 Men'. Man, 'Sharona' must've been one great fuck, eh? Kinda like Rosanna Arquette must've been (great tits) to have inspired a couple of songs. "Rosanna' by Toto and a few by Peter Gabriel ('In Your Eyes', 'Don't Give Up', a couple others).

Did you mention:
Yes
Genesis
King Crimson
Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP)
Grand Funk Railroad
The Cars (their best two albums were released in '78 & '79)
The Eagles (must have)
Manassas (get their 1st album - PURE genius)
Neil Young's best solo work was from '70-'79
Since you mentioned The Who (who debuted in '64) then check out The Kinks albums from the '70's - again, pure genius!
The Grateful Dead's best (studio) work came in the '70's
Foreigner
REO Speedwagon (fine albums but STOP at '79)
Cheap Trick
Meat Loaf
Pat benatar's first albums were in the '70's
The Alan Parson Project
Electric Light Orchestra

I could go on and on.....(The Outlaws, Pure Prairie League, Poco, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Cat Stevens, The Marshall Tucker Band....)

Anyone saw "Velvet Goldmine" ?

I guess that was a pretty cool movie, out of time and made by someone who was heavily into the glam era.

The Porn Nerd 02-28-2010 11:34 AM
