been waiting for this one for a few days - my gut feeling is that Canada wins this one pretty handily. if they don't, i don't know what's the problem - almost the entire Canadian team are players who play on the 1st line or top defense pairing of their NHL teams - US only has about half a dozen of those on their team, actually maybe not even 6.

no real excuse for Canada not to beat the US by 5-2 or something like that.

nah - US has taken the play back since Canada scored its second goal - the shots are evening up now. i'm pulling for Canada but to be honest, we ain't great. We were god awful at the last Olympics and now at home on an NHL sized rink we can't beat the Swiss in regulation time and the Americans are beating us. We produce great NHL players but national teams - nope. The US junior team was absolutely better than the best Canadian juniors at the WJC.

Looks like the Americans are going to win this. Martin Brodeur hasn't looked all that solid. I felt they should have stuck with Roberto Luongo. I'm pretty sure he'll get the start in the next game. Hats off to Miller, he's standing on his head.

ha - i said it was my gut feeling Canada was going to win by a few goals tonight. i'm the least cocky Canadian hockey fan around.

BUT the truth is the players on Canada are better players and paid that way in the world's number one professional hockey league, the NHL. They *should* beat the US. If I was starting a new hockey team and got to pick from all the players on the ice tonight, 15 would come from Canada, 5 from the US team. And any hockey follower would do the same.

Brodeur definitely let Canada down while Miller played his best for the US.
