The only thing I hate about My Macbook pro is...
... Yeah I love the damn thing. But Adium Sucks! It's like the Trillian for Mac, but it's support of ICQ is terrible! Nomatter what I do, it Orphans most of my ICQ contacts, and changes their name back to an ICQ number. I can only find maybe 20% of who I look for these days! Does anyone have an alternative to Adium for ICQ on the Mac?

				 | Every program I have used for MAC fucks icq contacts except the actual ICQ program. I just took the time in Adium to manually update the names with get info and changing the alias locally.

				 | The worst part about the Macbook is being forced to wear the "Mac user" moniker that immediately makes people think you're a dick in Buddy Holly glasses blogging about your cat from Starbucks. |

				 | Adium isn't great, but part of the problem is ICQ sucks on Mac anyway. Maybe webmasters should consider abandoning the platform. |

I hate to lose my contacts, but i suppose I should start clearing out the dead weight and maybe my adium just hit a query limit with ICQ servers or something?

				 | Just click on Adium window, and start typing someone's name. Try one letter, or two, or more and you should see them show up.

				 | There are two versions of Adium. The beta version is much better than the regular released version. Try giving Adium 1.4b17 a try.

				 | icq a relic ... i pretty much gave up on it after 2 errors that stopped 2 numbers from working. shouldn't the industry move on to say google talk at this point , video / chat / voice .... no software needed through gmail and it works well, based on jabber ... |

I am actually using the beta version you mentioned. I've started looking into the Debug logs and it looks like the iCQ servers are rejecting the queries because of too many lookups. grr... I tried changing the ICQ server it was querying and got more of the same. @Thurbs - I'm with you. I don't use Google talk that much, but my messenger of choice these days is skype.

				 | I'd also like to see the movement away from ICQ gain steam. Probably 99% of my contacts are all using it though. Maybe a big percentage of them would like to switch too.
