Car alarm going off at 4:30am

    Car alarm going off at 4:30am

    Woke up to the sound of a car alarm going off at 4:30am. Slowly started to realize it was MY car alarm that was going off, at 4:30am. There's no alarm clicker because the alarm stopped working years ago. Tonight it decides to start working again, and sound the alarm.

    This is on my old Civic that is still sitting in the driveway. My brother said he disabled this fucking thing a long time ago, so the car could be driven... it never had a problem until now.

    WTF should I do? I put a spare key in the ignition and locked the door for now.

      most likely there is a wire going to the battery to power the alarm. disconnect that and it should stop.
      you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..

              My car horn started honking out of the blue the other day while I was driving. It was damn weird. I slapped it and it stopped. Now it's OK.

                                          when i was in college we used to dick around and do stupid shit (especially when we were drunk) and my friend hit the PANIC button my key fab then through my keys into the street... he didnt plan on them going into a storm drain

                                          i ran inside and got the spare key and turning the car on didnt do anything, so i had to open up the hood and rip off the power to the battery, which still took a few seconds to die.

                                          i later found out if its a factory alarm, you just have to lock/unlock the drivers door with the key

                                              Many years ago I had a VW golf with an after fit car alarm. When the alarm was activated the lights and blinkers would flash.

                                              One day on the motorway it decided to break. As I was driving the alarm was going off and lights were blinking on and off like mad.

                                              I managed to pull 2 trucks over thinking I was the cops before I made it too the dealership.
