It's pretty hilarious that all the chicken little "conservatives" say Obama has destroyed or is well on his way to destroying the country in just over a year, yet 8 years of collective Bush policies were not to blame for the countries slide a few months into Obama's presidency.

Indeed.

To say nothing of a staggeringly higher intelligence quotient.

Admittedly, Sarah is good at playing to the Joe the Plumber/Teabagger constituency however :1orglaugh

Right Now I think it is a good thing that Palin is out making waves. It is stirring things up and getting people involved.

It amazes me that we continue to elect someone to run this country, Hear that again RUN this country that has little to no experience in running much of anything. The person that gets elected is normally the person that is the slickest talker. And a political slick talker is one that says a whole lot with out being to specific on anything. It just sounds good...

If they would ever put a person in that office that has built a business from the ground up and ran it successfully then was generous with their wealth to those less fortunate with a little redneck mixed in. Then they may actually have someone that can do this country some good. The government is a balanced mix of business and social well being . Hell some here on this board including me could run this country better than most that have ever had the office.

As far as congress, That is simple...RE-Elect NoBody!!!!!!!!

Politics is an opinionated subject. But one opinion that seems to remain constant is that no matter who we elect as Pres. Few like them after they get in there. So why are we always electing the wrong person??

Maybe Palin will stir enough people so that someone that is actually worthy of the position will step up to the plate.. I personally like O bam a, Just don't know if he can succeed in the Job..

There's the left coast, and the west coast. She's loved by all of the idiots in between -- and there's a lot more of them than us. God help us.

This is an often used argument by Republican supporters to justify Bush's final two years.

But the fact is, Bush's previous 6 years of policies and appointments continued to do their damage outside of the reach of Congress.

Not really. They just vote at a higher rate per capita (mostly because they set up their voting booths in the dining halls of every major church, and church attendance is higher in these rural areas).

If it was required that every American vote, the Republicans would be out of business.

SleazyBear 02-07-2010 12:28 PM

After the next election Obama will be a lame duck too. Its easy to fix this country. Instead of spending billions on bullshit projects. Redo the whole interstate system, If you collect welfare you must work 3 days a week at least to collect it. It doesn't matter if you work in a soup kitchen, you don't get shit unless you work. Your a single parent, then you get someone to watch your kids. Maybe another welfare mom watches kids. The problem with this county is billions spent on bullshit to help a few, when the whole country should be working on something. The other thing is this country needs to quit putting lawyers in office. I think we would be better off putting Joe Blow in office than some guy that has an education in law.

ShellyCrash 02-07-2010 12:28 PM

Right now I think Palin is just a squeaky wheel / media curiosity. The majority of republicans I know think she's a moron just as much as we do. I mean, we're talking about a woman who got stumped by hard hitting questions from Katie Couric like "What newspapers do you read?"

I know to some of you this might sound extreme, but I would rather take another 8 years under Bush than 1 term under Palin. She's an idiot and a religious zealot, she wants to drop bombs on Iran and doesn't have any issues with bringing about Armageddon. I want leaders that understand the cause and effect of their actions, not ones that rely on "god's will" to dictate what happens to a country and it's inhabitants.

I'm a Republican and I think Palin is an idiot. With that said, I would rather have another 8 years under Bush than another 3 under Obama.

I have said it before and will say it again. She is a niche candidate just like Mike Huckabee. She has people on the far right who like her. But selling a million books and getting a job on Fox does not get you the 55+ million votes it takes to win the white house. If she decided to run for president she could do well early on because many of the early primaries are in the bible belt states where she has a decent following. But eventually you have to leave the bible belt and move on to the more progressive states and that is where she will lose. Huckabee saw the same thing. He hung in there until they left the bible belt then once he was in an area where there wasn't as much Evangelical support he couldn't compete.

Add into the fact that if she thought she had it tough as a VP candidate wait until she gets in a real fight with the other republicans many of which want nothing to do with her and think she could ruin any chance they have of winning the white house back in 2012. They will tear her apart and all the winks and nods and cute little sayings in the world won't save her.

My thoughts? She will collect fees to make speeches at places that are within her base of support. Like the Tea Party (like it or not it is nothing more than an arm of the republican party) and Christian conservative groups. She will be on Fox and she will continue to give her opinions. When the election comes around she might run, but won't do it seriously. She will start a candidacy, but only give it a half assed effort then drop out after 2-3 states and blame the liberal elite media for attacking her and her family unfairly. She will write another book and claim that she will continue to fight for "real America" while continuing to cash in then eventually either fade away from the public eye and return to Alaska where she runs for a smaller office like house rep or she sticks around and stays on TV, but gives up on running for office.

Um, to be honest, I never trusted politicians from Chicago, they don't exactly have a good rep and I trust lawyers even less, but I get what your saying

I believe pretty much the same thing, but if she continues to build support, we'll see, she's got a lot of fans
I got going to afghanistan, but never got Iraq. USSR tried to take afghanistan and they couldn't do it, why do we need to do it? Just get intel for the terrorist camps and bomb just them from 20,000 ft
I don't want our troops in a war, period, I have a daughter in the Navy and I didn't like that Obama said he was going to send more troops to afghanistan when everyone was pissed about the troops in Iraq, I mean WTF?
Iran needs a nuke dropped on one of their processing plants.

I would just like to see a balance, a democratic president and GOP house and senate, it worked pretty good from 94 to 2000 for the economy

The Demon 02-07-2010 01:04 PM

I agree, the president and the GOP must be from different parties. This has worked well in the past.

Well, you should be happy then because from now on neither party will be able to get anything past the senate without a 60 vote majority. These are the new rules that the Republicans insist on playing by and it's a damn good bet that the Democrats will play the same game when next they're in the minority.

Welcome to the era of no federal government.

Now, if only this was the case during Bush's first six years in office maybe the economy wouldn't be so fucked up now.

That's interesting, because Obama has done more to fuck up the economy in 1 year than Bush did in 6.

That's funny, I just read that same exact quote in a new book called "What A Total Moron Might Say" - I didn't realize how accurate the book was going to be, but so far it's spot on!

This forum hasn't heard from the dumbest human being on GFY in days. Glad to see you're back!

Palin is such a dumb ass. She would be nowhere without Fox news and their obvious republican agenda. I can see Palin running for president and choosing Glen Beck as her running mate in 2012.

You mean this adult industry forum, of which you are not a part of on any level?

How did you wind up here anyway? Did the mindless-moron-forum you used to belong to, finally crash under the weight of it's own incompetence?
