According to the interview, it's not the physical danger per se (it's been argued to be very minimal) the effectiveness of this "interrogation assistance method" is that it forces your brain to go into a fearful hyperdrive because it triggers fear of drowning.

Probably the most interesting video I've seen from playboy in a while.

Doesn't look like something to try, that guy had spent ages focusing on ignoring the irrational brain triggers and couldn't last 5 secs.

i've got no problem with this being used on gernuine terrorists, but in some cases how do you know they are terrorists until you torture them. and you're also crossing a dangerous line of state sponsored torture, where does it stop, i.e. suspected criminals etc.
