In my opinion the Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga are garbage from what I heard. Just nonsense that becomes catchy when repeated many times over. But hey, I guess the same can be said about most pop music.

Honestly who fucking cares. It's an award that means squat. I thought music was art? Art is not a competition. What music is listen to or buy is not going to be influenced by how many awards someone got or didn't get. And honestly 99% of the music that has come out in the last 15 years I have not heard anyways.

I agree with this 100%, BUT they did give the award the last 2 years to Alison Krauss/Jimmy Page and Herbie Hancock.

I was surprised that they actually got it right for a change. Then this year it's back to whomever sells the most records.

That doesn't make sense. Herbie's "rivers" didn't sell nearly that many albums, but was definitely the album of the year in 2008.

An album does not deserve a Grammy just because it sold the most albums.

Grammy's is about selling records not making music. What they are really giving awards for is who has the catchiest song to go into the next big summer movie or sell some teen demographic products.

It would have been cool to see Laga Gaga win some more.

Beyonce however is so overrated. The "Put a ring on it" song and video (whatever it's called) is the most annoying piece of junk I've ever heard, and that video makes her look stupid and low-class. She's a beautiful woman who needs to get away from all that hootchie she keeps trying to sell us and concentrate on singing some good songs instead.
