Some countries do allow marriage over the phone and call it marriage by proxy. Not sure it would be valid for importing yourself someone from Ghana to the US though.

Hadn't heard of this specific scam but you only have to do a quick scan through any dating site to see recognisable pornstars or sets taken from one of the ex-girlfriend sort of sites. The ones with pics of suntanned women under palm trees with an american car yet claiming to live in rainy London UK always amuse me.

What I can't understand though is how anybody can be so desperate for a relationship that they will throw a large amount of money at someone they have never met but have spent hours talking to online while you can guarantee they would be the first person to go all keyboard warrior and have demanded custard-proof of something like peoples cars in Adam X new car thread.
Also how they have managed to completely avoid seeing any porn during the time they have spent online?
