Now that I'm getting a little traffic the high price of my virtual hosting account is an issue. When I asked for a more competetive rate my sales rep reminded me I have an off the shelf php script which has been tweaked and tinkered with over time by their programers in order to make the script meet my needs. The hint was that although I could transfer my files to another ISP, nobody would ever figure out the server side aspect and I'd be screwed if I tried to move. Is that pretty much the case?

Start looking at getting an identical script written for you by people that are freelancers... Sorry, I am not one of them.

The script will be yours to move around...

who's the host? if you had a good relationship with them...this wouldn't be an issue

i cannot stress enough how important it is to form a relationship with your host...

btw how much are they overcharging you...3$ a gig?
