Diff'rent Strokes star Gary Coleman arrested for domestic assault
Former child star Gary Coleman has been jailed after being arrested for domestic violence.
He found fame as a ten-year-old in the U.S. sitcom Diff'rent Strokes.
Coleman, now 41, was arrested after police were called to a 'civil disturbance' at his home in Santaquin, Utah.
The 4ft 8in star is currently being held on $1,725 bail at the Utah County Jail as a result of an outstanding warrant for a prior incident.
Police said he was jailed on a warrant for his failure to appear in court in an unrelated case.
A source told website RadarOnline: 'He's been booked. He's in the jail right now.'
The victim of the assault has not yet been revealed.
Coleman is married to Shannon Price, who is almost half his age - and almost twice his height.
The pair wed in a private mountaintop ceremony in Nevada in August 2007 and Coleman revealed it was not only his first marriage, but also the first time he had been intimate with a woman.
Coleman, who rose to fame as Arnold Jackson in the US sitcom, met Price, 24, while he was filming 2006 movie Church Ball in Utah.
He admitted in 2008 that their relationship was at times volatile.
He said: 'We may go a week and not speak to each other.'
In July last year, Price was arrested after a domestic violence incident involving the actor.
Coleman has had numerous problems since Diff'rent Strokes came to an end in 1986.
Plagued with financial issues, in 1993 he admitted he had twice attempted suicide with sleeping pills.
He received a suspended sentence for assault in 1998 after he punched a female fan during a heated row over an autograph.
The woman, Tracy Fields, mocked Coleman's lacklustre as an adult actor, he said that he thought Fields was going to hit him, so he punched her.
Despite finding work with various bit parts and cameo roles, Coleman filed for bankruptcy in 1999, attributing his financial woes to mismanagement of his trust fund.
Just last month, he auctioned off an autographed pair of his trousers on eBay for £248,000 to help pay medical bills.
