I was actually involved in this project. I shit you not.

It was done with a Dodeca 2360 camera system which is the same camera system used by google street view. I was contacted a couple days after the quake and contracted to build 3 sites for a new partnership between my client (he bought the cams and shot the video), the manufacturer, and a 3rd silent partner.

That's a lot like the virtual tours you take when buying a house. It's very common in the housing industry. And actually I wished I could remember who it was, but not to long ago some company put up on their website a 360 porn scene where on the couch you have a couple having sex and you move around to the other side and you see another chick and a guy in a chair getting it on. Wished I could remember which company that was. It was really well done.
