Maybe they have realized the Youtube format is just going to cost them money.
How long before other free sites realize it as well?Comment

you do realize that google has bought so much fiber that it has setup BGP peering with every major backbone provider and reduce their bandwidth cost to zero.
They can buy a bandwidth hogging service and instantly turn it profitable because of their investment in "network"Comment

I just read fresh article how they managed to reduce their youtube loss to 170 millions yearly while before was around 300 or 500 millions.Do you want link to it?you do realize that google has bought so much fiber that it has setup BGP peering with every major backbone provider and reduce their bandwidth cost to zero.

Bullshit!!!
There are so many ways to make money on youtube it's fucking stupid!
So much so that there are plenty of people on youtube who would gladly fork over $100,000
if they thought their youtube page might have to come down.

yeah i would love to see the link
so far every article has been an outside analyst based on if they purchased bandwidth from a bandwidth provider.
nothng stated officially from the internals of the company.
funny thing is those outside experts don't even recognize the revenue generated by googles video referals where people are buying views for their videos at $150 cpm
they ignore that revenue and treat it as zero when calculating "loss" of youtube.Comment
