    How BAD does Obama need to fuck up to make people forget GW Bush?

    After reading the GFY poll on the WORST US President of the last 50 years, the thread title came to mind. What monumental misstep would Obama have to take for people to forget GW Bush? Or is GW *irredeemably bad*?

    Alternatively, are we living in such fucked up global times that the last 2 presidents (O and GW) will look bad regardless ?

                      I would say Obama would need to make up something crazy, a huge lie, like: We have to evade Mexico for Corona's, but really we did it for Dos Equis - then we hang the President of Mexico, murder a ton of the people, and steal its peanut resources. Then come out and tell everyone on national tv we never went to war that it was only the Canadians... just trying to equal the lie, maybe say Canada nuked them! To keep this short while all this was happening he would need to rob Americans of investments, take away our rights and freedoms more than ever before, and to top it off if he could steal an election...

                      Shit... none of that would get Obama kicked out, what am I thinking.

                                                  The current political situation that has been peaking for a good 8-9 years now dooms pretty much everyone that gets elected. We blame hurricanes on presidents. Oil spills aren't cleaned up quick enough and it is the presidents fault too. It's always easier for a Dem to point a finger and blame a Republican or vice versa.

                                                  Too much blame and not enough working together for the greater good of the people and our country.

                                                          Obama is spending too much time reaching for his personal goals to see how fucked up everything is. But hey, his experience as a community leader will prevail.

                                                          Obama has been the president for long enough to call it his mess
                                                          Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

                                                                              No, he never said he would pull troops from Afgan and Iraq. He said he would remove combat troops from Iraq and he move them to Afgan and build up the forces. Pretty much what he has done.

                                                                                                                                                              1. Impose a $700 billion "stimulus" bill that turns out to be just a bunch of pork-barrel spending that makes unemployment worse.

                                                                                                                                                              2. Impose an idiotic healthcare reform bill that makes healthcare more expensive and harder to get.

                                                                                                                                                              3. Send 30,000 MORE troops to that pointless war in Afghanistan.

He did create his own, which at this time hasn't backfired at all. He didn't create the patriot act, I'm not happy he kept it.

                                                                                                                                                                  Our Economy "has" improved, even if you feel it's destroyed, it's still here and doing better than it was when Bush left office.

                                                                                                                                                                  He moved the combat troops out, or most of them and is going harder in Afgan, that was the plan. Nobody is expecting us to exit Iraq and leave that Country with nothing but the rubble we created, we're responsible for it because Bush was our President.

Obama is fighting terrorists held up in another Country, using Afgan as a forced jumping Nation. Which is why we're trying so damn hard not to kill Afgans - we aren't at war with Afgan.

Insurance companies are already increasing premiums and employers are accounting for huge future losses in increased healthcare costs.

                                                                                                                                                                              There's a law in place requiring publicly traded companies to notify their shareholders of any "change in environment" that might adversely affect profits. After the idiotic healthcare reform bill passed, several large corporations issued these notifications. As a result, Henry Waxman dragged their CEOs before Congress to ask them about it. The incompetence of our government would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad...

                                                                                                                                                                                          They control the healthcare costs, if they increase 'the costs' it's because they wanted to do it. I would be scared too if I was them, finally we have an Insurance that isn't based on making stock holders happy thus always having to increase profits by increasing prices, to keep making profits, so people keep investing.

By free market standards, if some companies can't cut it, then so be it.

But one thing I don't want to say Bush was correct about, was taking the War to them (the proper war helps too). However unlike Bush, Obama is taking the war to the correct people.
