Anyone paying less than $0.2/GB to their CDN?

My current CDN is charging me $0.2/GB. I didn't really mind but now we're pushing about 6-10TB a month and they're not willing to give us any volume discount.

Their service is very high-end and I'm not looking to go down in service-quality. So, can anyone recommend a CDN?

I hear that you can get service from Akamai at $0.15/GB if you know a good account manager...

Just bw you can get alot cheaper then that, but CDN is multiple servers right? Is your price including alot of server for 20cents per gig?

If my math is right im paying about 1/10th what your paying for BW but i just have 1 server

Yes CDN means multiple servers. A good CDN will route every request to the nearest server, automatically fail-over in case one server crashes and also balance the load between multiple servers during peaks.

PlayedOnline.com is the result of 4 years of hard work I can't really sum it up in a forum post but here's tip #1:

I get conflicting reports on people using CDN. In theory it seems like its the right thing to do, then you start asking around and you hear it doesn't make a difference to warrant the cost.

Excuse my ignorance on the topic, I've just started looking into it and this is what I'm hearing, often from hosting companies directly.

Do you think it's really worth the extra cost?

What CDN are you currently using? Level3?
Maybe you need to go onto a Gbs plan rather than GB total...

SoftLayer resells Internap's CDN at < 12c/GB on that volume (they only price up to 2TB, beyond that is custom). Storage is a consideration if you want content cached at the edges > 24h.

You pay way too much. Just send your specs to 5-6 different reliable hosts to get a quote and compare.

We are just finishing our new CDN.

The price will be $0.01 per GB when the system gets online and ready for sale. That's mixing severs in USA and EU and delivering using geolocation or just round robin according to client preferences

In fact, we are trying to get it even lower at near $0.0075 per GB, and that's quite possible with high volume sites pushing around 500 Mbit/sec or more.
