well ......... it's a step forward i guess.

one goes legit, another one steps into the breach and i think Rapidshare/Hotfile/Megaupload etc are much more damaging than the illegal tube sites.

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

1. tubes are limited in development. they can't steal more content than it's being produced.
2. it costs more to steal and distribute the stuff, than they possibly can earn from it

this biz model is doomed from commercial and legislative points of view (the second one will become actual one day or another). so they are looking for some way to become more commercial efficient and legislative correct

they tried to sell tube traffic, but failed, now it's another approach which will result in the same way.

they got some really huge traffic, but have little idea how to get money from it or anyhow cut their spendings to sustain it

First thing's first. If they were making money on the site the way it is, this post would have never been made.

Second, notice that they're still not going with an affiliate model. They're seeking PAID submit account buyers. So, this tells me they're STILL not very confident that their traffic converts very abundantly.

So, the way I see it is that they'll get inundated with paid accounts from the large programs that do the shady cross sales. The only way a program will be able to afford their paid account is to blast the surfer with cross-sales. Shit, just look at the advertisers on GFY. Seems the only way to afford GFY advertising is to inundate your surfers with cross-sales. So, in a way, I appreciate the cross-sale programs. Without them, GFY may not even exist.

Anyway, I got sidetracked. I think the paid model will eventually fail and they'll go to an affiliate model within 3-12 months of today.

I hate the tubes but I try to think of things historically. Take the Kennedy's for example. Joe Kennedy was a rum-runner. He made his money off illegal alcohol sales, among other things. Now, the Kennedy family is one of the most revered families in America. Perhaps Pornhub will be one of the most revered sites in adult at some point.

Or, I could be totally wrong. This is just how I see it.

I have some time to pass here @ lv airport so I'll chime in

1. I don't understand tubes so I don't fuck with them. In a sense they remind me of cj sites and toplists, which I also never fucked with. I visited about 3 tube sites and just didn't get how to monetize them let alone run one myself. Just seems foreign to me

2. I wouldn't give my content to a tube site, at least not a full scene which I think that's what they go for as that would devalue the exclusiveness of my content. And the shit I shoot is average Pov at best. If they took a 20min scene embedded with ads and the girls wearing tshirts with my sitename and made a billiemays style infomercial then maybe.

3. I have yet to get a straight answer from any tube runner on how they convert paysites, and that's peeps I met at shows and on boards. Show me some numbers that u can make standard sites sell and I may change my outlook on things

First you complain they steal your videos...now they give you an opportunity to make money on it...and its a lot of money, from the front page.
