You couldn't be more far from the truth...on the Mini part at least.

Chicks LOVE LOVE LOVE the Mini Cooper. Best bang for the buck.

good work, what tires are you running?

I see a lot of guys at the track who bring out 911's, Z06's etc are scared of breaking the, at least they come out to the track and try though and don't just drag race and shit

me I'd rather have a less expensive car and drive the hell out of it!

Wow awesome video
Is that the go pro cam?
What kinda mods do they do to the minis?
Are you in a full cage with harness and racing seats?

Great stuff

I will be racing Infineon Oct. 23,24th and Dec. 5th I will be racing the 25 hours of Thunderhill so you will have to come out for those races!

Those GoPro cameras just keep getting better and better. Saw lots of them at a recent track day at Daytona
including this guy that stuck one on the outside of his Enzo.
My friends have the waterproof ones and stick them on their surfboards. Sure wish I had them back when
I was trying to rig cameras up in the cars my friends were racing in NASCAR.

BTW thanks for driving in a responsible manner and taking your need for speed to a closed course. :thumbsup

I really have zero respect for those that take it out on public roads and endanger the lives of innocent people :disgust

It's also a lot of wear and tear, constantly accelerating, braking and down/up shifting. I agree though, I would love to have a dedicated track car! It's an expensive sport for sure..

i don't think racing Mini's can compare to banging new 18 year old's for money. maybe a ride in Formula 1 or Nascar - but i still think banging 18 year old's is better than hanging out with hillbillies in Nascar and Euro twats in Formula 1.

Your whole world is just based around 18-19 year old females?

Got 27 race weekends locked in with MINI this year! My dreams are coming true wooot!!

Nice driving, but with all due respect. The guy that owns that GTR should not be allowed to own one.

GTRs can take corners pretty much better than any vehicle. He could have slung that into those corners & left any car on the track.

The system on the handling is so fucking awesome that you can drive it into a corner that is impossible & come out holding onto the steering wheel and your face on the side window! :2 cents:

They were banned from the Aussie races because they kept winning.

As far as costs go you should look at Nasa time trials theres contingencys for tires and brake pads and instructors get reduced fees it helps a bit.

Since I shunted mine I'm gonna do the whole raccar thing with a cage etc sometime this year. definitely gonna get a Hans too

Honestly the GTR's arent that great out of the box, I wipe my ass with GTR's in my 60k(total invested) 08 STI. In order to get the GTR to perform it takes big money and youd probably be looking at total investment of about 135k including the price of the GTR to make it haul ass and be competitive. The driver of that car in the video was in advanced group however he wasnt the best of drivers because I saw him braking way early and pussy footing a bit. The MINI is still an awesome platform and with the new chassis we are developing parts to see how far we can go without just throwing money at it.

Yep. Again, its mostly about the driver. A great driver in an S2000 will smoke a bad driver in a GT3 on a track. With equal drivers, a Z06 and GT-R should have no problems at all with a 300whp Mini on a track. Too much advantage in the straights and they can corner pretty damn well too, again, with a good driver. A 500+whp STi would be a problem though.

180 treadwear damn thats not enough! A048's would make a huge difference I'm pretty sure thats what my buddy auto-x's - same sorta grip levels as RA-1 R888 etc

heres a scrappy lap of me in the s2000 at my local track on streets: https://youtube.com/watch?v=BvQX38GD9bs

Well streets of willow is a really tight track and the Mini's short wheel base has the advantage now if we were racing at big willow I would have a problem. But if you guys think fwd cant keep up then check this out(there is a Need for Speed commercial, just skip it)

Chris Rado in a FWD Scion can keep up with any of the time attack AWD or RWD unlimited cars, I think he usually runs 2-3 seconds behind the leaders.

Yep, true. My Focus is FWD and I can keep up with plenty of RWD and AWDs but I dont go to tracks too often.

Is it just me or does it sound like your on and off the gas in a couple corners in the first video ?? You have to maintain those RPMS !!!!

Well the Mini has no camber adjustment up front and a 1way diff, also we were running and open exhaust so you can hear everything. With no negative camber up front its hard to get the car to turn in so you have to toss it into the turn, brake late and power out biased. The Mini redlines at 6500 lol
