It depends. They may hate you on your success or they may actually have a reason to not like you. I noticed that a lot of people that claim to have many haters, usually act like an ass and then claim to be a victim when called on it.

I see people on Twitter all the time making posts just for their haters. Pretty weird.

Or ... they may have deep psychological issues that cause them to hate on others for reasons that are not always - shall we say "sensible" :thumbsup

There are plenty of threads, especially among what is currently popular at the moment that you chime in with comments about it being stupid, that you just don't get it and that you would never waste your time doing such a thing, etc. not exactly positive. and don't get me wrong, you may be right but don't go getting on your high horse about yourself.

That's a really good point about not being able to id your peer group online (or having those lines blurred). . . I've never thought of it that way and that does go a long way to explaining hypercritical troll behavior.

Some people just like to poke fun at you cause they think you are stodgy or dull... or they like you and want to pull your pigtails.
