Greetings from tokyo!!

Just came in tokyo last day and i have to say that it's quite crazy, some things in the good and some things in the bad.... we visited a building that is basically an 8 stories mall where there are ONLY girls shopping, called "109 building" in shibuya and we have never ever seen so many girls ONLY in a mall before, it was like 99.9% females inside and out of these, 79% where super hot.

so far we really like it, too bad about language, not exactly english friendly although doable with a bit of effort.

and one thing that absolutely drives me crazy, considering that i am a boot fetish lover and that i own www.ultimatebootfetish.com is the fact that her all girls either wear sexy boots or high heels. really awesome hehehe

Greetings. What I heard about Japan is that they have some really good effective corporate structures and hierchies. I think they have less different levels within their management system or something like that.

You lucky man, even though it is cold the girls still wear those short skirts or little shorts with boots. You got to share some photos of your trip when you get back.
My wife is going back in July, but I can't get off that time of the year from my job.

yeah it's quite crazy about that! i have to say that it's a bit expensive in general, but not AS MUCH as people were saying, i mean, costs like italy. if you go one day in Venice (probably the most expensive city in italy), it's MORE expensive, if that can give you a gauge. speaking about going to clubs, etc etc.. yesterday been to a place named Feria, they said best club in tokyo in roppongi, 4 floors, not bad

I was over there in October for 2 weeks and the $1 was worth around 85 cents, I stay at my wife's parents house in Sagamihara, Kanagawa which borders Tokyo so it does not cost me anything. I have not been to any clubs there, also the trains stop running around midnight in Japan...so if you mis the train...you just party until morning. I can get used to living in Japan since there is a lot going on like NYC. But not speaking the language I would not be able to work a regular job. I hear the hostess clubs are expensive over there. As far as the food went it was limited for me, since I am not into most traditional Japanese foods. I like the teriyaki, tempora, and some sushi...not what they cook at home there. I am Italian and used to large portions of food, so I found myself ordering 2 breakfasts each day at Jonathan's Restaurant. I did find a good Italian Restaurant over there called Mama Pasta, tasty pastas and brick oven pizza.

I was in Tokyo in Nov and it is an amazing place. Loved it in Tokyo then went to Kyoto as well which is awesome. Before I went I was never really attracted to Japanese girls - but was converted very quickly - a real quirky dress sense, and loved that lots work socks as part of the fashion. Certainly agree it not being English speaking friendly, luckily my g/f speaks passable Japanese so we got by

Love Tokyo. Spent a lot of time in the Tokyo and Yokohama area over the years.

I don't get the 'not English speaking friendly' bit in this thread myself. I never really had a problem other than out in the sticks.

actually about the food i totally agree with you, the portions are so small that you have to order 2 times but nothing too crazyeither. we found this good italian cafè "segafredo" near our hotel where we go there every morning and we even got a coffee card.

what i do find really weird and very bad socially actually is the fact that - and today i talked with a model friend of mine that lives in tokyo - is that socially, relationships are very closed, you tend to go out with friends you had from childhood and you will not make any new friends. people in general, no matter whether men or women are closed mentally and socially bound that they do not talk to each other.

we notice when we approach girls in bars just for talking that they often have issues when it comes to communciation, and about english, they all do speak english but if they dont talk well they dont wanna do it, my jap friend told me that.

other than that yeah lots of nyc style partying and places, although i love nyc more, still in my top 5 world cities. a part from that, yeah the train and metro closes at midnight so your only option is the cab.

yep yep.......that's like normal for girls out here, and another "crazy" inside..... in general girls are all very well dressed, like fashion and stuff, with nice clothing, but guys don't even look at them. on the other hand, in the video games arenas that are so diffuse in the city, there are sort of small rooms where girls can have themselves photographed, i couldn't understand that so i asked what's all about, these machines also apply photoshop and airbrush on the fly and girls get photos with themselves in a "fancy" way.

my guess is that they do this because they dress up fancy and stuff but guys don't even look at that so in order to push up their self esteem they get themselves photographed so they look good.

if you think at the social aspect, if i am right about this, it's REALLY bad. always good to see the pros and the cons about a country nevertheless!
