CCbill possible fraud

I am very hesitant about posting such an inflammatory post on this board but I really need to see
A- if anyone else is having issues? or
B-if I need to have a lawyer contact them? or
C- I am going to get another runaround and jpost error database error bullshit again !
I have been with ccbill over 8 years, i have been constantly complaining about suspicious activity on the account and nothing ever gets done! Doug my account manager is good at inviting me to parties but bad at returning calls.
I decided to migrate from ASP to PHP and tighten up the scripts, when we did the migration, there was a 220 member discrepancy between our datatbase and what ccbill was paying on, that means there were users being entered in our database that there was no record on my ccbill account.
I coughed it up to bad programming and years of neglect!
We changed the site 6 days ago and all of a sudden 6 days later there is a 6 member discrepancy between our database and ccbills database.
After researching the users 2 of them are from completely different sites
1-straightcollegemen.com
2-porpassnetwork.com
They signed up on their site how the hell did they even get into our database ????
The other usernames were too common to research
ONE OF THEM COULDNT EVEN BE FOUND ON CCBILL SYSTEM (supposedly)
THE KEY IS THEY WERE DEFINITELY ADDED IN THERE BY CCBILL FOR ITS IN THE CCBILL LOGFILE WHICH I WILL BE ATTACHING BELOW!
There are hundreds of member discrepancy 6 that I am 100% sure is their issue and another 2 that are supposed to be in the database but were never passed along to us!
Now i know they are going to come back with a story that they are having issues etc. but the signups are suspiciously happening, like the 2 days after migration signups were through the roof and the second this started happening signups have been dead again now i know what my conversions are supposed to be and my traffic is steady and the same but the reason for the migration is because of the suspicious activity and the way the signups trickle in, its as if there is a set number per week that will come in, so if rebills are high signups are low if rebills are low signups are high!
This might be a general ccbill issue or it might be one employee working at ccbill that is messing around and got away with it for a long time, but I have had enough I will not settle for a quick brushoff as a network issue, I want answers and compensation!
It is currently escalated to tier 2 tech support but I want to see if anyone else has had these issues before?

I usually don't like responding to people who dont know crap about anything, but I will justify your stupidity with a response, if you would know anything about ccbills user management you would know that the log file i just attached is actually added by ccbill, they input their members , the mebers were actually from OTHER CCBILL SITES, pornpros and straightcollegemen, the other members some of them expired in 2004, this is a brand new server and brand new drive its live for six days!

This particular quote is something I also notice for the past few months. We addressed it in this thread. I'm not too tech savvy but something is starting to REALLY rub me the wrong way with CCBill... That's why I always tend to take notice of this kind of threads... And it always tend to be webmasters noticing the same thing... What's REALLY going on?

Check your server logs to see what IP is calling the CGI to add users. If it is not a CCBill IP then secure it. If it is a CCBill IP then continue raging.

Holy shit, ok, where there is smoke there is certainly fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe that I had an entire thread written about this very same phenomenon last night.

I thought long and hard about the thread after experiencing many descrepancies and anomolies with my ccbill reporting stats versus signups versus back up processors, and I swear to the Creator of the Universe, that my initial thought was that some how there could be 2 seperate databases because some of the join form/submission stats descrepancies that are happening are simply not explainable with common sense and logic.

At the very last minute I deleted my entire post/thread because I had no proof of what my gut and intellect was telling me, and I said before you put a suggestion out there about ccbill, you had better have your facts straight,

so I decided to delete the thread, then I come in here today less than 24 hours later and I see the very same concern about ccbill, all I have to say is you can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.

Something stinks, and its about time the truth comes out.I don't know who's shitting and who's farting but these irregularities, discrepancies in the stats, by people who are not newbies, but have been in the biz for 5 plus years its all starting to add up!!!!!!!!

I want to wait and see who else chimes in on this, before I comment more, but this is serious and is no small potatoes.

If any of our accounts are locked or terminated in the next few day for chatting about this, then you can rest assure there is something to hide!!!!

Good to know there are other awake individuals monitoring their stats, and going over them with a fine tooth comb!

Kudo's to those brave enough to post there concerns about ccbill. We all know the risks trying to get the truth out of corporations, we all know the ramifications for daring to speak the truth, so much respect to those that speak their minds about what they know in their guts.

Be prepared half of the industry will come in and call you insane for merely suggesting that ccbill stats are not adding up for you.

Yes beware, there are those who will jump all over you with flames about how you don't know what you are talking about because you don't have 10,000 sign ups a month, just saying, be prepared....

Yes CCBILL still has never been late or short on a payout but that does not mean that I and others have some serious questions about data bases and stats reporting versus server stats of individual clients!

forgot to mention, that for some strange reason, been getting many emails from customers saying they signed up with ccbill , and they can not get into my site, then I ask for their login and pass and it works fine for me!

No I don't know what that means, I know I have not changed any server configurations so logins should work, but I am getting emailed by maybe 2 in 15 members about their login and pass not working.... weird thing is they always work for me, so I can see some plausibility in the theory of passwords being issued or added to the database without getting credit. Read carefully,

I am not accusing anybody of anything directly, I am saying where there is smoke there is fire, and when you are talking about money, anything is possible!So don't anyone close their mind to the possibility.

Remember I have been paid on time, without delay or without being shorted, so there is no issue with PAYOUTS, however I have some questions about reporting, and inconsistent stats!

Really need the input of more webmasters on this topic!

I mean hey I want to be 100% wrong about my suspicions but with all of the fraud, and deception, and chicanery involved with banks, financial organizations, I would not be surprised if someone or some group within the company, not saying the entire ccbill company,

but maybe just maybe someone figured out a way to skim joins,and deflect them to a black database, issuing login and pass, but failing to credit you with sale. Hell I have been told by webmasters who use NATS that it is possiblle to scam and skim using nats, I don't know because I don't use NATS

I mean has that thought crossed anyones mind, ecspecially after studying your stats and seeing patterns that make no sense, then you come in gfy, and see other webmaster's with the same questions/ concerns???

I will let you know if my account mysteriously procesess no sign ups for the next few days as a smack on the wrist for daring to question...

I have had issues about tracking the actual number of current members. Searching functions always seem to not work properly to find a member within ccbill.

That being said a while back I compared all members paying to my database and it matched.

I also check everyday my database signups and then compare to ccbill and they match. I don't think they are purposely skimming.

Is there an old x-sale that has gone astray?

I guess another way of phrasing that question xxxmovie asked is ... "is it possible for someone or some group of people within the company to devise a system that could in fact skim joins, and add users without crediting the sub account....

You would prob need a programmer, or someone on the inside to let us know if it is in fact possible!

I just want to know if its possible? I don't think any of us mere merchant sor clients can answer that,

for me the question is not would they skim or scam, but is it in fact possible, and is it possible for them/someone to do it with plausible deniability?

Or could this be happening without ccbill's own account reps even knowing.

I hope we are not besmirched for raising these questions, they are valid, and clearly others are experiencing the same phenomenon.

yes, that's what i was referring to. is there a cheaper way to track sales other than buying NATS or MPA3?

i never had an issue with ccbill but then again how would you know unless you had an independant tracking program?

isn't that why accounts receivable and accounts payable isn't done by the same person?

I compared all my active members again because of this thread.

There was a difference but it is not black and white and difficult to compare. Off the bat a 5% difference but I did not include manual signups. So it seems that scheduled rebills and active members match up.

I had asked this before with CCbill and will do so again because it seems appropriate:

1) The username function on ccbill does not work for active members - can this please be fixed?
2) Would like a very easy ACCURATE search function for:
- active members total
- current members that have not expired but requested to
- current members that have not expired and have not requested to.
- total signups for the year
- total signups ever

The active members list is off by about a factor of 3 if I use the function members/active members and compare to scheduled rebills for the next 3 months (that would include all active members in my case)

I know there are explanations but bottom line it is very difficult for me with an outside user management to obtain information within ccbill and compare the two.

This was sent they are sitting on it I have asked this to be investigated many times, like I said this is a 6 member discrepancy in 6 days I still have the list that has over 200 members difference from old server, you guys have all the files.

THE KEY IS THEY WERE DEFINITELY ADDED IN THERE BY CCBILL FOR ITS IN THE CCBILL LOGFILE WHICH I WILL BE ATTACHING BELOW!

If somebody added the username through the CCBill script, and that person not being a CCBill employee, it would ALSO show up in the logfile.

Let me offer an explanation on how our user management works, hopefully this will help.
When a customer signs up to a site that is using the CCBill user management system upon submitting the form an 'add' command is sent through our script on your server with the customers username and an encrypted password. This is just simply a reservation to make sure the password media is available for the add, they are not given access at this time. Once the 'add' is successful and the signup has processed an 'update' is sent with the valid password and the customer is granted access. Once it is time for the customer to be removed from the password file a 'remove' is sent.

There are a few reasons why you will see an 'add' but no 'update'. If a customer is declined you may see an 'add' but no 'update' and/or if you are processing telephone payments or direct pay payments and the customer does not complete the transaction you will not see an 'update' but you should see an 'add' and a 'remove'.

We have looked at the log files you posted and we have identified 2 incomplete telephone transactions and 4 other credit card declines that 'updates' were never sent on. That being said, it does not appear that 'removes' were ever sent on them either which means we most likely have a problem running this command with your account so that is something we will certainly want to take a look at.

I will be contacting you now to discuss further.
