    I agree..you only have to look at the last 20 new site launches mentioned on gfy and you will see most of them are not using top premium domains but more average to good ones.

    I also agree a name might be worth 250k + but to get someone to drop serious cash in this current climate is not so easy.

            Funny, I just tried to remember the last 20 new sites/domains, and the ones that popped into my mind all had good names - I must have forgotten the rest, and somehow I don´t think average surfers have better memory

            People generally only remember a handful of sites - no matter if its news, sports, communities, or adult sites. Companies/People investing in content, design, programming, marketing, but not in a good domain are leaving money on the table (and a good domain actual retain most of its value or even increases it over time, while the other things going into a site loose their value over time).

                Im not sure if you did or didnt miss my point......Yes the ones you remember are the ones with short easy to remember and spell quality premium domains ,it has nothing to do with my comment that of the last 20 or so sites launched most contained average to medium domains....


                What Im saying is that a lot of companies are now using average domains when they should be investing in premium domains as you mentioned and for the reasons you laid out....
