mac and CuteFTP + Perl files - help!
Help!
I am using CuteFTP with various editors on a Mac, and no matter what I do, perl (.pl) files stop running once I upload them. The file format is ascii and the syntax of the files do not seem to have changed. If I upload from my PC they work perfectly but not from my mac. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? |

Make sure that the files are indeed being uploaded in ASCII format, and make sure CuteFTP is not 'defaulting' to a binary upload. I went thru this issue about a month ago, and it can be frustrating to track down.

I have dreamweaver but don't really know how to use it yet. I've always been a "notepad" kind of guy.
I'm used to cuteFTP and am happy with it so I really don't want to change but will if I have to. Btw: I have no problems editing other file formats such as HTML and PHP. Only .pl files are giving me the headache. |

Checked this already - Files are definitely ascii, and its not sending in binary. These were the first things I checked. |
