Xbox 360 Elite - help
Anyone here use xbox 360 elite .
1. Does is play blue ray ? 2. Apparently they no longer ship with component AV cables with it. Can I use standard HDMI or should I buy their propitiatory HDMI cable, because I used my HDMI , there is video but no sound. may be I am doing something wrong. I am connecting HDMI -> sound sytem --> TV (1080p )

1. No
2. You are doing something wrong. Standard HDMI carries high definition video & sound. |

My elite had a similar problem, sound but no video... tried HDMI, and every other hookup possible and still nothing. Took it in for a $100 repair, it worked for about a week and now it's bringing up a black screen with errors in english and japanese. Anyhow, not that this post provides any help to you... but I think it's safe to say you're not the only one having issues as these things are notorious for going bad.

Xbox doesn't play BluRay, that's PS3.
I have the pro model, and run HDMI to my TV, then Optical to my surround. It's a ghetto setup and has a small lag but its generally not noticeable. And HDMI does carry sound.

I also have an elite and just got the "e74 error" on fucking CHRISTMAS. After I bought my younger brother a 360 for christmas. Shouldn't have a problem with the HDMI that's what I use, I hate having to plug in all that extra RGB crap.

I just bought one today courtesy of a Christmas gift card. Power and HDMI are the only plugs I used and we are up and running.
