When the iPhone first came out, I had one in the first week, I returned it the second week because of the typing.

I just got the new 3Gs and I must say, you get used to the typing really quick because it spells just about every word for you if you miss type it or as you are spelling it.

I was going to get it, but was messing around with it in the App store and hated the onscreen keyboard... Ended up getting a G1 instead.

Might check out that new 3GS though, interesting...

G1 is nice too I hear. As mush as I hated this phone when I first got it years ago, I really love it now. So easy to snap pictures and videos. You can even edit your videos on the phone and either send it or upload it practically anywhere.
