    Graphic program for designers

What prog do designers use to do the pics so smooth, but also good sharpness, like on splash pages? All tips are welcome.
Or maybe this is a designer secret ;)

Photoshop. You can do anything you want in there, you just have to know how to do it.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

No, actually. I've been able to do pretty much anything without downloading extra filters. Photoshop has blur and sharpness built in, of course. The hint is, make an image in two layers, sharpen the top layer and toggle the opacity... I'm not giving anymore hints than that. hehe

don't tease him! A book won't make you a master. You have to basically live in the program to get good.

There's no two ways about it - Photoshop is the shit. There's enough tutorials out there to help you figure out how to do the stuff you want to do.

I've been going around checking out the tutorials out there, myself. I'm just starting to get the hang of things now.

I just created an AVS site the other day using Photoshop (mostly). It's nothing that is that special about it, but I have applied techniques that I have just learned recently.

Nice work, just what I want to be able to do. I guess you don't want to share the url to a tuturial to do that ?

                                Thanks - Here's a good tutorial here.

There's no shortage of them out there. Just go to a search engine and type in 'photoshop tutorials'.

There's many many ways to get good. Seriously, all bragging aside, I never use books or tutorials, if I can't do something I force myself to figure it out. It might take longer to get good doing things the self-taught way, but in the long run you end up stumbling onto tech.s that are unique for you. Also, using things as a crutch while at first might boost your skills, will ultimately prevent you from breaking out into your own... I can't find the word. Basically, doing things yourself will get you the "unique style" feel people look for. To me all these paysites look identical, I would strive to break away from that.
