I love skinny vaginas that work out on the bowlex, man up ladies. Unless you're rich and can afford a real gym in your house there is no replacement for a good gym membership. You guys watch too many Chuck Norris infomercials in the middle of the night.
I'm not rich, but I have everything in my gym thats needed. You only need iron to work out well, machines are a waste of time for most people, only professionals really need them.

You need a machine for working your legs. Oh, and I work my abs on a machine. Those are the most useful machines at the gym IMO.
Man, its so great...the endorphines after the training...and no matter how hard my day was, how tired I am(mentally), when I work out, I feel super fresh afterwards, my brain is like rebooted and I can work twice as efficient.
My wife is all about Fitness and she says the same thing. Good part about it is you never regret working out.
Sounds correct in theory, but I doubt a gym membership is affordable to many people right now, or affordable enough to make them pay for it to tolerate the boredom of working out at a gym simply to satisfy a New Year's Resolution.
Most people are better suited to get involved in an organized physical activity that's fun, given all they'll experience early on at a gym is aches and pains afterwards, which will get them to stop going.

It's $25 man... that's 6 Starbucks coffees. That's all someone has to cut in order to afford a gym membership.
I thought the same thing but had no issues last year. Turns out "the new year's resolutionists" need to also resolve their issues about procrastinating. The gym is no more busy at 7am than the rest of the year
I noticed that too, people don't bother to go anymore than any other time of the year.

Money's not the main issue, but it doesn't help, and little shit adds up. I probably spend over $1,000/mo on non-mortgage non-food non-domain stuff including stuff like the gym (which I get for only $99/yr thanks to getting multi-year membership a while back) which is each less than $100/mo but it adds up quickly. Most people wouldn't be going more than a few times before chickening out and bailing on their resolution even if it was free.

Disgaree, to grow you need to be shocking your muscles, to shock your muscles you need to be doing different workouts. At my gym I have 10 different back row machines with different angles. Countless different chest machines from cables with all sorts of different angles and foot levers to be your own spotter, to standard incline/decline/smith machine barbel benches and of course a rack to do squats, leg press, angled and not angled, squat plate assisted machines, etc, etc. Plus I like being at the gym to have some spot for me, gotta workout to failure with the most possible weight!
I have a full hoist gym at home and a standard bench, I gained way more muscle at a REAL gym.

Different angles and muscle shocking is for forming details, not for growing big muscles. You can do bench, squat and dead lift and grow muscles until almost forever, shocking doesn't mean different workout, just different amount of sets, reps, different weights, you can use the same shit all the time and still gaining muscle. Since I started working out, I gained almot 110lbs, most from iron. I only worked on machines when I started and didn't know anything, so I tried to make everything possible and copy all the big guys, but those were on drugs, so it didn't really matter what they did, they gain no matter what.
Going to the Gym is fucking useless if their gonna stuff up at McDonald's afterwards. What these people really need is a good balanced diet and a bicycle.
From the 1st of January to about the middle of February, the gym will be unfathomably ridiculously incredibly intolerably packed with New Years Resolutionists.
It usually takes a couple months for all the fat girls and fat boys to reconcile their destiny as hopelessly rotund.
Unless you're like me and go at around midnight. Then you might actually be able to score a machine.
this is true. However after a couple of years of sitting on my ass and only playing basketball once a week, I'm going to be the New Years Resolutionist this time, lol. Years ago I used to hate this time of the year at the gym, but I'll be going about 9 am when there is hardly anyone there, so I guess I won't piss too much people off, hehe

I disagree, ask any body builder the key to not plateau is to change up your routines. I've been down both roads, trust me, a gym membership is WAY better, PERIOD. You simply cannot compensate for it. I ALWAYS lift heavy, but changing up the machines, benches, dumbells, cables, etc keeps me growing. I can also use different machines if my shoulders are bothering me for a couple weeks for incline bench, BUT still lift heavy, I can use 120-130-140-150lb+ DBs for shoulder presses and DB bench of course with a spotter. Also unless you have a rack of dumbells good luck getting dropsets in.
BTW, do you have someone at home to spot for you, or do you just not lift till failure? That must sick, putting in the time and effort but not seeing the gains you could have if you just bought a gym membership.
