I visited him at Stanford Hospital about a month ago, and we had a good visit.
He seemed in good spirits. He was supposed to transfer to another hospital following further tests and procedures.
I'm not on a computer where I can log-in to my e-mail right now, but I'll try reaching him later tonight, and let him know about this thread, and that people are thinking about him...

I had been talking to him several times a day, via email and phone until the 11th, after that nothing, have emailed him a couple times, and have gotten no reply.

Definitely a nice guy. I exchanged emails with him a few times when I noticed we were on some of the same meds ... right before that big trip by ambulance that he posted here that he was worried about.
Didn't he always have the plan that if anything happened to him, his wife was to immediately take over and would post news here? I do recall that he was hoping for the best but planning for the worst and trying to make it so that if anything happened to him, she wouldn't lose their income. He also wanted to make sure that the GFY community would know.
I'm hoping that because nobody has heard from either of them that he's OK and just dealing with stuff.Comment

That's always a difficult thing. I won't defriend them but it's hard to look at their profiles...especially if it was sudden and they were actively posting that same day. Constant reminder of how things can just change at the bat of an eye.
I think the fact that his cell was on and Fungus was able to leave a message is a good sign.
I'm hoping he's just feeling a bit anti-social from all that's going on.

David (ASM) has hosted with us for like 7+ years and has become a personal friend to myself and some of the staff here. We also have not heard from him in approx 2 months. The last time I spoke to him was around 2 months ago and he was in as good of spirits as he could be in his situation. He had just completed one surgery and was wanting to have a double amputation performed. This guy is an incredible person as he would bend over backwards to help anyone who needed and ask for nothing in return. I know he has some close friends on the boards (Fungus) and others and has done business with many others. I will surely post if I hear anything from him. David our prayers are with you bro.

The internet is a strange place.
Probably the weirdest thing is when people on the fringe post things on blogs or other sites about someone who's died, using first and last name, and just spewing craziness. People who are at a distance love to speculate, twist tradgedy, they don't realize the shit they talk is crawlable, and that the real close friends and family often come across the things said.
