i just love the fact that we get an inch of snow and we come to a complete stop.

It's not just the UK The Costa Blanca shuts down if it rains for more than an hour, schools close everything. We had about 5cm of snow lastweek and whole towns got cut off. -

We are fucking useless at dealing with supposed "extreme weather". I'd hate to see what it would be like if we had winter's like Canada etc...

As you know I lived in Canada last winter and to what we got yesterday, Canadians would laugh at us. Downtown Toronto was hit day after day with snow and nothing stopped. They are so ogranized over there, yet we got a 30 min snow fall yesterday and people are taking days off work lol.Comment

The first winter I was here, we had like 1/8th of an inch of snow. I had a really long (2 hour) train and bus commute and I managed to do it. Only to arrive at work to find out they had closed because people in their cars all called out. The year before, I had been at university in Boston, Mass. where we had been made to go to class in 20 inches of snow.
I love the UK but you all are total and utter wimps when it comes to snow.Comment

I have the eurostar home from Paris > England tomorrow.
1) there is a strike
2) UK is in a complete mess due to this snow, so my train to my town is likely to be delayed.
