laptop fan blowing max most of the time.

acer laptop, lately the fan is constantly on, sometimes medium speed but as i write this its on max speed and i only have a few windows open.
Firefox using 6 to 60% cpu. WTF
When i use IE that uses alot less cpu but it still has the fucking fan spinning. I dont understand?

Mine was doing the same, u should have access to the heat sinc via a panel on the back take it off and look through it mine was full (and I mean full) of dust and crap, as you use it on the floor, sofa, bed etc.. and as the air in and out channels are small they are easily clogged.

Once i sorted that my laptop was good as new and running way faster!!

Also if you're brave, inside the tunnels that the fans push air through, there is probably a 'carpet' of dust. If said carpet is there it could be restricting the cooling, which tells the fan to keep spinning max to try and cool it.

Use an air compressor and blow out everything. Mine was doing that and hubby was shocked at how dirty it was.
