Not sure how true it is, but I'm sure I've heard this before somewhere: around 60% of people who jump from a height of 50m or greater will die of shock before hitting the ground. Apparently.

Parachuters know they're going to stop. Suicide jumpers know they aren't.

I'm not scared when I'm driving @ 90MPH because I know I'm going to stop when I need to... but cut the breaks (i.e, get rid of the parachute), point me at a brick wall and I'd be fucking terrified.
