They discontinued ImageReady. IMO because it was too powerful.

The funny thing is that I downloaded the Photoshop trial a long time ago and ImageReady did not expire after 15 days like Photoshop did. I've been using it ever since. There are a couple annoyances, but overall it's really great for webmaster work.

Exactly how I feel about it. Amazing some of the arguments about not paying are exactly the ones used by pirates. It's expensive because the people who own it decided to make it so. Which is their right.

Scott McD 12-04-2009 08:10 AM

Yes i did! Years ago, and still using it...

candyflip 12-04-2009 08:41 AM

My girl works on a University campus. Education packages rock.

I got the CS4 suite recently for about $150.

SpotOnTechSupport 04-18-2011 03:34 AM

I like CS5, personally. My laptop runs it smoothly, let's me slice a site up nice and quick.

ICQ for info :)

Is that Adobe's cock I can feel in my ass :(

That's true of most things there. Reason I left in 1997 was after I came to US to buy a couple of laptops stayed a week at friends on Chicago returned home to uk and it was still cheaper than buying them there.

May be doing the reverse if health care costs continue to climb in the US. Pay $500 fly to UK and get everything paid for as I still have my national insurance card...

Sid70 04-18-2011 04:40 AM

What is Photoshop? I order my prints at the corner store.

Emil 04-18-2011 05:01 AM

Time is money. It took me a few minutes to download it.

v4 media 04-18-2011 06:23 AM

the new 5.5 looks nice working on cs3 atm, but $500+ just for the upgrade, fucks me off.

newB 04-18-2011 06:44 AM

Find someone who works for a University to buy it for you and get the entire Creative Suite, including Photoshop, for under $30. That's what I did.

buying photoshop using an educational pricing and then using it for business is the same as pirating it outright :2 cents:

prezzz 04-18-2011 12:04 PM

I did pay for Photoshop, but with crazy Euro prices for Adobe software, their monthly subscription offer should be tempting for many of those who use it pirated...

I disagree. They got paid what they considered a fair price, and I got a legally licensed copy.

I should add that I was in school at the time, though as a student it would have still cost me about $200. As faculty, my friend got it for under $30. Why? Her job did not require it. She didn't have to provide any other documentation than showing her faculty ID. It's a perk of the job out there to be taken advantage of by those who have the contacts and resources.

JustDaveXxx 04-18-2011 12:18 PM

I always had pirated copies of everything, but when I started actually using those programs to make money 8 years ago, I started paying for them.

Fortunately I have a friend who reviews software and gets extra key codes on anything graphics multimedia and editing. One key Code one user. There is no passing these codes around.

But what i don't get for free, I gladly pay for with no regret.

It's all in the license. Similarly on most photo stock sites you can't buy an image for $1 and then print it on 10,000 t-shirts for resale. Even though you paid for it instead of downloading from rapidshare, you would end up breaking the license, which would be just about the same as stealing the photo in the first place.

iSpyCams 04-18-2011 12:25 PM

The only thing I use it for is changing sales text when they are graphics in a banner or in a tour. Acdsee works fine for most batch editing stuff.

I tried to pirate it but fucked up and ended up with a 30 day trial. I'll have to make a decision again in another 15 days or so. I don't think I will be buying it.

AnimeFevers 04-18-2011 12:27 PM

Amputate Your Head 04-18-2011 12:30 PM

All my software is legit, including the entire Adobe CS4 Suite. :2 cents:

2MuchMark 04-18-2011 12:47 PM

Yes we purchase licensed copies for all software we use including Photoshop. Don't steal!

You don't even need the card. If a foreigner is in an accident in the UK we fix them for free. Watch 'Sicko' for more deets.

mavruda 04-19-2011 06:45 AM

Yes I paid for PhShop - thus I get some cool updates and support if needed /even though i never used the support service/, but I'm looking to use some open source programs though, so I can avoid the expenses.
