Is a gastric bypass the band or something else? Does it make you puke if you eat the wrong thing? I have a relative who's had a band put in and it seems all she does after picking at her meal is complain how unwell she feels, and/or goes off to the bathroom to puke. :helpme

Yeah part getting older and its actually one of the side effects of the operation you risk losing your hair quicker.

Its not the same as banding its this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastric_bypass
I had the choice and had heard a lot of people had problems with the banding and its requires a lot more self discipline than the Bypass and to be honest if I had a lot of that I wouldn't have ended up that fat. I have had almost no problems a few minor issues the first 6 months but nothing today.

Great stuff! I am feeling really stuck at the moment with my weight loss. I have maintained a 90lb weight loss for the last year but can't seem to get losing again. I am glad I haven't gained but tearing my hair out about it not going done any more. Good to see inspirational threads like this.

No I did the exercise and consultations with the chick that teaches you to eat right (Don't know the English word) but it only worked for a short time. To get the surgery in Denmark you have to lose 20lbs and keep the wait loss for 3 months before you can get the surgery.
At one point I lost almost 50lbs but gained it again its been a battle all my life and I have tried a lot to try to get a permanent weight loss I have fought this for 15+ years.
Taking the surgery were a big decision for my but it were my last chance so I took the surgery and if I live to see 60-70 instead of dieing of obesity at 40 I will have paid back the costs of the surgery many times over.
