I would hardly call it lazy writing. If you go back over the entire season, it all works, without any holes. It's a good twist.

Let me clarify: At the time it seemed like lazy writing. I also said they could redeem that in my eyes which they started to do.

I finally got a chance to watch this last Sunday's episode. LITHGOW NEEDS TO DIE ALREADY.

How many episodes has it been since Dex killed someone.. They are straying off the original storyline to be more of a soap opera.

That was one of my favorite things about the show, the fact that they end the show with him ending a cold blooded killer's life in his uncanny way, I can't even remember his last kill...

I don't like the way Rita had been written this season. I never found her to be a compelling character I really gave a crap about but it seems very unnatural to me that this woman who was married to an abusive drug addict for so many years would suddenly come to expect so much and tolerate so little in her relationship with Dexter.

Finding out he was keeping the apartment was an understandable freak out but she seems to come unhinged at nearly every little thing and then some things that should upset her don't. Like she got nasty like a spoiled little kid about the bread maker, but then when she catches him smashing the motion sensor light she just brushes it off.

It's like the writers want to make us hate her and honestly right now I wouldn't mind if they killed her off. I do like the kids in the story line though. I think despite everythng Dexter is still a pretty good dad.

Yea I know, I understand he got married and lost his balls. But we need to see people get fucking killed! I want him to freak the fuck out and chop someone up with a chainsaw!

Honestly it's getting tiring on me.

Most of the time I wish Dexter would go psycho and kill all of his family and the old psycho and all of his family.

The first two seasons were brilliant. But now it just doesn't seem that the writers/producers know where the show is going.

It just ain't going anywhere. They need to take cues from shows like Supernatural. Some episodes need to screw the main plot and experiment.

Like when an episode starts, there's Dexter all in blood driving like mad somewhere, and flashbacks would retrace what happened and somehow we'd think he killed Debra or something. That would rock. Here though, it's the same stale formula.
