Cops Pursue Warrant in Woods Case

Sources tell TMZ the Florida Highway Patrol is now focusing on obtaining a search warrant -- allowing them to seize medical records from the hospital that treated Tiger Woods -- in an attempt to determine if the wounds Woods sustained are consistent with a car accident or domestic violence.

http://www.tmz.com/2009/11/30/tiger-...earch-warrant/

Looks little tiger should have spoke to the police when he had the chance and not hide out like a little punk..

This is why you don't call the police... no mater what, they will make up shit to bust you on. And neighbors need to learn to shut the hell up... if you want to make sure everyone is alive, sweet... then piss off and go back to bed.

Medical records... if I was Woods I would walk into the Hospital and donated to the hospital to delete records which no court has legal rights to access this info, but because they can abuse powers... they will.

Sucks to be Tiger.

His wife beat the shit out of him and he can't even put her in her place because he would get arrested and lose millions in endorsements.

... yet he takes the high road and tries to get the hell out of there, crashes and still probably loses endorcements for looking like a girly man.

Generally speaking, State Police don't like to get blown off like Tiger attempted.

As I recall, he hit a fire hydrant and a tree while driving. I think that trumps your position.

Of course, they could just do a presumption of guilt and suspend his driving privileges for a year, or whatever the law allows in the State of Florida.

That doesn't trump anything. It's a fine, replace it, or nothing happens because it wasn't damaged. It isn't a cause for investigation.

They are asking for an Interview, which means they have a statement.

Asking you for an Interview and telling you to show up for questioning... is a bit different.

He wasn't DUI, they would be assuming and he would easily beat it. This is why they want the medical records, so they can fish for something to charge them each on.

They shouldn't respond until a Lawyer tells them to do so.

I thought anytime you damage public property you have to speak to the police...Or at least say I don't know anything..

I think the police were on the scene and investigated the initial accident and the local news was reporting that the troopers want to talk to him for a second time which he is not obligated to to talk to them which is why they are now trying to get a search warrant and FORCE the issue as they dig deep for whatever.

In another unrelated incident last week here in Orlando a man heard some noise in the middle of the night and looked outside to see someone messing with his lawn equipment that was on a trailer he used for his lawn care business. He grabbed his gun and went outside to defend his property. He said the burglar came towards him in a threatening manner and the owner shot him dead. The police believed him on the spot and no charges were filed against the homeowner and the case was closed after the initial investigation that night.

They are putting Tiger under the microscope and it sucks for him

So, you think that if you are DUI all you have to do is hide out until the effects have worn off, then you can easily beat it?

Is that your lawyer's advice?

And who said the requested an interview vs wanted him for questioning? A newspaper reporter?

First they got statements from them... they are asking for an Interview.

What they are fishing for is to see if they can press criminal charges. If so, Woods would have to pay for the Hydrant. It's "really" not a big deal... and it could only be a fine, or a donation and/or his insurance will cover it even if it was criminal.

Truly... it means nothing.

Good Insurance doesn't care if it's criminal or at fault... they cover it and you're bill goes up.

If they don't, you show up to court, they ask about the damage/cost to replace, the judge tells you how much it costs and/or the fine, and Woods writes a $100k check like it's us giving a homeless person a $1. Being Woods, this will all go down in private chambers, and include a donation to something...

you got it right!

his wife was yelling at him over some insignifigant issue, like not closing the toilet bowl or telling her she looked a tad chubby today. enraged, she began beating him down to the point he had to leave. he got in the car and locked the doors to avoid her bitching...when he refused to come out, wife golf clubbed the window causing him to slam on the gas to escape

I once called the police because someone broke into my car. I called them for assistance, and I ended up in the back of the police car, because they said a vehicle that matched my description, was used in a crime a few hours before.

No charges ended up being filed, but it took a few hours of BS, all the while I was just calling them to help in the matter and to get a report.

Fuck cops. I hope they all die horrible deaths in front of their family.

He will have to pay for the hydrant anyway. it is a crash.

They can't arrest anyone because even if it was DV, someone has to press charges.

The florida highway patrol means nothing in florida. all they do is write tickets for crashes. they can't do anything for domestic disputes. they have to call windemer police i would imagine and they havent attempted anything yet, i dont think.

I don't see the big deal, it wont become anything if noone talks and says, hey "i crashed my vehicle" thats it. done deal. movie over, go home.

Honestly I wasn't sure when the story first came out if there could have been domestic violence, but knowing more of what's gone on (some sources reporting an affair Tiger had with another woman, etc.), domestic violence seems to appear to be what happened there.

Waiting for the Buick commercial where he drives into a tree and crashes, then gets out of the car and says "Durable for your everyday driving needs!" Guess he won't be doing car endorsements for a long time!

You do not have to speak to police no matter what you do. Do not say "I don't know anything" if they find out you were lying to them they may charge you with obstruction of justice. It's best just to keep you mouth shut. The only thing you may be required to say is your name, address and date of birth.

In Tiger's case he only is required provide his name, show drivers license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration.

Is that your lawyer's advice?

And who said the requested an interview vs wanted him for questioning? A newspaper reporter?
Lets say you get drunk and you head on another car. It is loaded with a family and they are all hurt with internal injuries but no blood. At this point you have two things you are legally obligated to do. 1) Seek medical attention for the injured persons. OK, knock on a door and tell them to call 911. 2) Report the accident to the authorities within 24 hours.

So now you can leave. Run down the street and around the corner and have a friend give you a ride. Hang at his house until the next morning. Go to the police station and inform them you were in an accident.

You have now met all of the legal requirements. There is nothing they can do about your drinking because they cannot prove it. It is the law and anyone with a good attorney would have received this advice if they made the call to their attorney directly after an accident.

The cops aren't going to get a warrant and Tiger isn't talking without a lawyer. Nothing is going to happen if Tiger doesn't want it to. The rich and famous have different rules from us regular folk.

Wow, for a guy that fancies himself as so well-versed in the law, you certainly show you have zero clue.

You don't ever have to talk to the police. Ever. That is your right. You get an attorney and take it from there.
