AMAJOE is not the only one who's made this point of reference. Robbie, among other countless established full time adult industry others have as well over the years.
While I am not speaking for Joe. The point, I believe, is that if you are a serious adult industry person (i.e. business owner/full time). You are at minimum flying your contact info in sig. If not some reference to who you are, what you do, or something you promote.
If you're not. While not always true. More often then not those people tend to be hobbyists, part timers, trolls, and what not. Historically speaking.Comment

Many of us are exclusively webmasters and have absolutely nothing to offer other webmasters. I'm not trying to sell anything to webmasters. I could put my sites in my sig but why? They're meant for surfers, not webmasters.

It depends on how you use the boards. A BROgram owner will tell you that the industry boards are tool in the arsenal to marketing and promotion. I am paraphrasing, but that's essentially the meat of the point.
I do not own a program, but make a lot of money off the boards. As those I am partnered with could easily verify. Whether experienced, or not. People use the boards for tracking down deals, content they want, scripts hosting among many other things.
It is a social outlet for many. Some of us get a lot of current events from the boards. A lot of use make money off the boards. In the past month I have made more than 90% of GFY will all year. Between site sales, hosting, and content deals. So for me, it is worth the hassles I deal with.
The boards are a tool in the arsenal. But it depends on if you are a B2B or what your role is in the industry. If you market to surfers, then you're right. Flying your shit may not be of use. Why? I'm full time. This is all I do 12+ hours a day every day. I am as serious as one can be. There's still nothing I need other webmasters to contact me about. That doesn't mean I am hiding necessarily, I just don't want to be bothered.
When I did put my ICQ in my sig I was contacted by all sorts of retards wanting everything from advice to traffic, loans and occasionally someone I pissed off wanting to tell me to eat the peanuts out of their poop; and how can I forget to mention the seemingly endless stream of affiliate reps who couldn't find their own ass with both hands.
Admittedly I am a serious antisocial misanthrope. Maybe too much but I am what I am. There's not a single person on GFY whose opinion is worth a squirt of piss to me. If I need something from someone, I will contact them.I like pie.Comment

I opened a deli/sandwich shop a few years back. While it was a fun business it was hell to operate. I managed to sell off to some other sucker.
I'm in the process of finding a location to open up a cupcake shoppe. A good friend of ours opened a location about 4 months ago and have sold almost 30k cupcakes in that time...at $3.25 a piece...open only from 5pm to 11pm. They can't run a second place but the demand is there so we are going to franchise so to speak.Comment

I didn't just take and reuse someone' shit...I made identical border images because I thought I was being fucked with. Turns out I was wrong about that...but what can you do. I've never hid from it and the person the beef was with no longer sees it as an issue. As has been pointed out it was 8 or so years ago now.
