    Film - Sugarhouse

Although the films exploration of common humanity across the social divide offers occasional worthwhile moral provocation, its evident theatricality also works against any sense of urban authenticity. Andy Serkis however is brilliant in his portrayal of Hoodwink the crazy ghetto crime lord.

    Plot
    ----
A cunning battle of wits erupts when middle-class lad Tom (Steven Mackintosh) encounters an unbalanced crackhead named D (Ashley Walters) in an abandoned warehouse in the back alleys of London's East End. The game intensifies when a vicious crime lord, Hoodwink, enters the fray. Gary Love directs this gritty thriller based on Dominic Leyton's play, "Collision." Andy Serkis, Tracy Whitwell and Adam Deacon co-star.
