I spoke to him on ICQ although he was using a different name on ICQ to what is in he's sig. Any how he claimed hes SEO achievements included getting youporn.com to #1 on google for 6 months for the term "Porn".

Apart from that he shown me hes companies website located at: phase5technology.com which kind of spoke for it self.

They can't even rank for their own term "Phase 5" on the first page of Google... a pretty unique term I would think.

"Phase 5" is their business name, in general you want to rank #1 for your own business name in case someone is searching for you sepcifically from a recommendation or because they can't remember your domain. Also alot of people use search on toolbars instead of the address bar to find websites they have been to, hence always good to rank for your own name

I don't get it, why are most webmasters on GFY still too retarded to understand that the world is now flat, and that in India there are more college grads than in the US? (both proportionally and overall).

Most of my web-related work is done by people from India, and honestly most of them are more pleasant to work with than smug Americans.

I.e. I needed 2 sales page designed. A guy from the US did it for $80, and a guy from India for $15.

Whenever I work with someone new, I never pay upfront and state that the designer needs to be comfy with making retouches.

The American did a lousy job in the first place, retouched it once and then went all horseshit wanting his money.

The Indian also did a lousy job, but retouched everything several times until exactly what I wanted. Since then he got 50+ more projects from me, and the American is in a shitlist.

There are many more examples, including tech support. My host has US-based tech support during US daytime and Pakistan based support during the night. I prefer talking to the Pakistanis, the guys there speak with a movie-inspired American accent and are always happy to help, fix bugs and generally have a great attitude, while the Americans usually want you to fuck off faster.

I could go on and on, but it pisses me off that GFY has this smug attitude towards developing countries. So fuck everyone who doesn't understand this.

And no, I live in an expensive EU country.
