    Is YouTube slower than shit lately?

    I'm about to fucking shoot myself. I'm trying to watch some videos on YouTube and the mother fucking thing won't stop buffering. Any video I watch buffers like a fucking bitch. I'm on a 25 megabit fiber connection and my shit is lightning quick, but it seems YouTube might be getting their shit blown up or something.

    Is YouTube short on bandwidth these days or what? It's kind of pissing me off.

      I've noticed some glitchiness lately too


      also their new interface (new meaning a few months back) totally sucks, and ruins the whole youtube interactive experience

          Happens to me all the time, but my connection has sucked sometimes so I figure
          it's me. But when I do a speed test it shows that I should have fast video play.

          Sometimes I think it's the video encoding.
          High quality video conversion can expand some videos to the point to where it's
          impossible to download as fast as it plays.

          I found that converting a .wmv file to a .flv in high quality can sometimes
          make a huge file. So I like to only upload mpeg or avi to youtube.

                          Its super fast most of the time but like you say sometimes out of nowhere it wont stop buffering for anything. Im on 20mbps down too. Sure glad they think they can now handle hd vids. :x

                              its always fucking slow for me and i have 15mbps internet with no issues elsewhere, and in a major metro area with good routing.

                                  It's definitely not anyones personal internet connection, I've been whining about this shit recently too, the video is either fully loaded (red bar 100%) and it will still buffer every 5 seconds, or it will just load slow as fuck.

                                          same happening here, i find it happens on the odd video, but moving on to another video will usually work fine. weird, but i know what you're talking about fully.

                                                  I had friends who used to always complain about how the videos always buffered and I never had problems, now its always buffering for me and videos hardly play back. Everything else is fine though. Oh wells.

                                                          I did read somewhere that it was implemented to save on bandwidth - but I really don't see how that is possible.

                                                          I never look at peoples channel pages now because it's such a shit fight. Shame really as I use to come across some very interesting videos.

                                                          Did you notice that all user input on the new channel layouts has been negative yet no one at youtube has listened.

                                                          Just on the 50% drop - youtube was boasting about serving 1 billion video views a week not long ago - wonder if the new layout has caused that to drop....
