how do you call someone who buys from an automotive company?
Customer? client? buyer?

I guess it would depend in what context you are using it. Is this for a specific phrase? Buyer and Customer would fit best if this was in the retail portion of it, I would think.

Buyer is normally a job title. Client can be a business relationship. Customer is normally a retail end user.

You would not normally use Buyer as that is normally a person in a company who does the Buying for them Customer or Client are both good though
