    Anyone have a home automation system?

    I'm looking into adding a home automation system to my house. Basically I want to be able to control most of my house with it - alarm, heating/ac, cameras, lights, etc.

    Can anyone recommend any? I'd also like to be able to access my system via my phone and/or internet.

                                                      I'd like my stuff to work and I'll be dammed if I'm going to rely on my cameras working while running over their servers. No thank you.

                                                      Nor do I want their ugly ass remotes, plugs, or whatever else they have going. Chinese electronics marked up 500% don't appeal to me, sorry.

                                                      Go ahead and read the reviews on their products. No way in hell I'd ever deal with that company.

                                                              Get the Jaadu VNC app for the iphone and you can control your home computer from anywhere via your touchscreen, very cool. Not sure about the rest..
