    Hawaii or Virgin Islands?

    I am going to be buying a Condo next year sometime and it will either be in Hawaii or US Virgin Isiands...

    I've never been to the Virgin Islands before. Is it a Ghetto compared Hawaii?

      Some of St. Thomas is ghetto, but most of the USVI are stunning, and the BVI are equally nice.

      Where about in the VI are you think of? I have been to most of them.

          Keep in mind if you have a dog that is part of your family, Hawaii has a 6 month mandatory quarantine to prevent rabies. Or I would be there right now!

              i'd say it boils down to whether homebase is east coast or west coast. i've spent a lot of time in bvi and hawaii, both are beautiful, obviously. bvi is more *primitive* though, not necc. ghetto.

              you won't find all the trappings of luxurious living there as easily as you find them in hawaii.

                  Hawaii is much more expensive on the basics side of things... staple goods that have to be shipped in are crazy priced, though things made on the islands are usually dirt cheap.

                  Also very different attitudes, even if manana does apply equally to both, so you might want to spend a bit more time in either before making a choice.

                      After my last trip to the Carribean I'm afraid they had to change the name of the Virgin Islands to the Broke Pussy Islands, to more accurately reflect the havoc I wreaked upon them...

                      If you are buying a condo, then I recommend Hawaii, since you can just about be sure that it will gain in value, mon!

                              I'm going to Hawaii next June to look at property. From what I have seen it's beautiful and pricy but well worth the investment.
