Change your forum signup so when they signup they dont have to click the confirm link in the email, just logged them directly into the forum when they register. Then search around for safe emailing tips. It's a very complicated subject but your first priority should be keeping those members. SO just log them into your forum right after they signup for now to give you breathing room until you can figure out how to get your emails delivered.

On a similar subject many people have told me that in order to comply with the canned spam act you have to do a double opt in, yet I have never seen this requirement when reading about the canned spam act. Can anyone enlighten me on this subject?

For every new member I get on my free dating site I am making ie .55 with amateur match. I use a variety of methods to upsell them including apis and advertising inside my free dating sites.

Right now the total I am making per new member is like $2.47 total. This does not include non US,UK,Australia, and CA members. I'm working on a system to sell those members to other dating sites. IE a german member to a german dating site.

No idea who is telling you that. You do not need to double opt it to be CAN-SPAM compliant.
