Anyone see CNN - The report on the Chinese Cruelty to Bears?

Just watched CNN and they showed another report about animal cruelty in China. On this one they showed bears being held in steel rod cages the same size as their body so they have no movement ability, then they stick them with catheders to drain bile out to sell to people.

The fucking bears on the undercover video were in complete pain and looked like they were going insane from lack of the ability to move.

Shit like this is so fucking wrong. How can these people have such a complete lack of sensitivity for living creatures? These are the same mother fuckers that skin and boil cats alive and eat fucking dogs.

I know bad shit happens everywhere on the planet to animals, but the asian countries in particular are without a doubt the worst offenders.

Harsh that they would cage an animal for that purpose.

But when it comes to them skinning a cat alive and cooking it is really no different than deer hunters skinning a deer alive which happens quite often. Same with fish and many other hunted animals.

Guess it seems worse because it's a house hold pet to us, but in fact it really isnt any different.

Skinning dear alive?? I've got a few cousins and uncles into hunting and those critters are all dead as can be first. Why would anyone want to skin a deer while its alive? That sounds like Hannibel the Cannibel time to me.

I agree with the other post on pigs and chickens. They aren't exactly treated well either, but then again they are a primary food source, unfortunately, and they certainly are not kept in cages for 20 years without movement like the Chinese are doing.

I have been on hunting trips with people when they have gutted the dear and you could still see the steam from it's breath.

They string it up right then and spill the guts before they load the dear, it happens more often than not. It's the only way you can carry a dear for a long distance without the shit inside killing the meat.

Hit some meat production farms and watch how fucked up the farmers are with the animals. It isnt like they lay them down and sing them a bed time song while they slip a sleeping pill in their afternoon watering.

Yeh, you get some sick ass stories from that part of the world. I guess its just so part of the culture they think whats the big deal.

The sickest shit I saw was an undercover report on restaurants in China. They showed some really fucked up things. Like people in a restaurant eating the brains of a monkey that had its head placed in the center of the table cut open and still apparently alive. And then cats that were tapped on the head with a bat and then there skin cut off and dumped in boiling water. Same thing with dogs. This one scene they must have had 50 dogs crammed together in one big cage all just heaped on each other with none of them able to move, gasping just trying to breed.

Then again you're right, I've seen stuff here in the US the way they treat farm animals going to the slaughterhouse that is pretty fucked up too.

I'm sure we'll never stop it but at least people should be aware so they can protest loudly.

what they do to bears is fucked up. very fucked up. the sooner the superstitious realise that tiger penis soup and rhino horn don't do jack shit the better off these animals will be in these countries... however bringing cats and dogs into it doesn't mean shit.. so what if they kill a cat by hitting it on the head and cook it up? have you never killed something and eaten it? moral relativity. cats were food first.. housepets much, much, later.. and as much as i like dogs.. which i do..if they are food there who gives a rats ass? Come on though, true food is food, but cats and dogs have extemely high intelligence levels and human like spirits compared to chickens and pigs.

When was the last time a chicken fetched a newspaper for you, or came and sat on your lap, or played ball with you? Dogs and cats are so human like at times its scary. My German Shepherd is more intelligent then some humans I've come across in my life.

So I do care that people are eating them as food in asian countries. And the slaughterhouses here in the US are obviously horrible, but pale in comparison to the way they do it over there by boiling animals without even killing them. And the sick part is they do that on purpose because the adreniine increase when the dogs get all panicked and in pain supposedly make the meat taste better.

I've gone as veg as possible myself, mostly salads and seafood, though I'll eat Filet Mignon once in a while. But I've cut way back on animal food from when I was younger, and now it grosses me out when you come to terms with the fact you're chewing on the muscles and who knows what body parts of dead animals that go into burgers, hot dogs, and everything like that.

Dogs have been trained. Cats have been trained.

They aren't some mystical animals with great brains.

Dogs are not smart. I love dogs, but to say they're smart is a joke. Good dogs have been trained well and can respond to the proper stimulus exceedingly well. Many animals can do this. Can chickens? I have no idea, don't know that anyone has tried. Would be interesting to find out.

Can bears do neat stuff? Hell yeh! Go to the circus, you'll see lots of awesome tricks. But hey, the minute someone brings me a bear burger, I'm going to gobble that down without thinking twice. Mmm...

I was in China a while back on business. I ask my customer to take me to a zoo so I could see a panda ;)

We arrived at the zoo, it was more like a small park with small cages around the outside. They had all types of animals and they looked as sad as animals could. They had not had a good meal in ages. I was told that the keepers, take the food that is supplied but the local government and sell it, but give the animal just enough to live. The panda, well if I had a gun I would have shot him, poor bastard. The bear had no teeth or nails. You get the gist.

When human life is so worthless in a country, no one will give a fuck about an animal.

But we are the same (the west), we just hide it better.
