If anyone from Edmonton needs to understand my pace, my favorite place to get thrashed on a weekend is probably the Strat, maybe Blues on Whyte. Or Filthy's on bingo night. Seriosuly, Bingo night rocks ass...

nowadays a grungy punk bar still counts as "clubbing" in my mind, just as a goth club counts, or the Metro or Oil City or wherever, when I think of "clubbing" I lump them all together, going out where there is booze and girls is the overall concept, regardless of the exact music that is playing :2 cents: it's all good ( although a Blues club you might have greater odds of people buying draft beer at a senior's special :1orglaugh )

genoveze 11-05-2009 08:40 PM

What about prague? I am invited there by a friend who said it rocks,

I go every weekend, I am probably going to quit very soon, but do something else wich envolves chicks and drinks, its just relaxing,

what else do you suggest as relaxation instead of clubs, and bars ?
what do you do ? I will give a corona pack to the best idea :)
I am not a casinos fan

Way too dangerous these days, just stepping on someones foot might get you hurt. I am also married now, so it seems senseless to go to a club and not try and pick up. :2 cents:

I will do the occasional dive bar/hole in the wall. Fucking hate "clubs" though. If the place is not fairly dim or dark, has its own unique bar smell, typically offers some shit you know you should not eat but do anyways, and cheap beer along with assorted shots. You will not see that many "mixed drinks" or novelty drinks, hell anything more mixed than a gin and tonic or the martini may get you thrown out. Very often they still have pool tables, darts, booths, and a juke box with music you either like or should not be in there. It is not about picking up women either. This is where you down some alcohol, tell a tale, or forget what is bothering you. There is no dancing.

Konda 11-06-2009 01:28 AM

I am 31 (but look 20-something) and still go out clubbing and partying every week, usually twice a weekend even. I still like it. I started doing it weekly when I was 16 (legal in the Netherlands where I grew up) so I have been doing it for quite some years. I don't dance much or anything. Just chill in the VIP with a few bottles of good champagne and hennessy and some party girls. Might sound pathetic for many, but I enjoy it and it makes me feel good, so who gives a fuck. Oh and I live in Asia, so it's cheap + I can get nearly any girl I want, so nothing to complain about.

Marialovesporn 11-06-2009 01:49 AM

If you like to go clubbin' , you'r e never to old. But when walking around on a party and feeling surrounded by 16 to 20 year old "kids", I feel like I am getting to old for this shit ........
And that sucks... but luckily now and then good club parties are organized where the "older" party people show up. Usually those parties are the best.

hypedough 11-06-2009 01:58 AM

Rather chill and smoke some bud rather than be in an over crowded clusterfuck.

CunningStunt 11-06-2009 02:42 AM

Ross 11-06-2009 02:52 AM

I still go to night clubs. 26 years old and I love it. What age do you stop going to clubs? I have a friend who is 32 years old and he still comes out with us and doesnt look out of place.

its getting boring.

scottybuzz 11-06-2009 05:01 AM

I still go, but when you go to events like Sensation a club cant really compete and you get bored quickly. I now only really enjoy a club if I am with the right group of friends. Other than that I get too bored and thus get too drunk.
I love the student clubs though where they dont fuck you off with the prices.

sheken 11-06-2009 05:26 AM

eh, I think it all depends on the place you go clubbing and what kind of music you like.

I used to live in Montreal and they close down clubs at 3AM. Last I recall, Moomba was one of the hottest clubs and they would turn the lights on at 2:30 to make people leave. Not to mention the waiting in line and the crappy (old ) music... how many times can I really listen to fatman scoop - be faithful ?

Unsurprinsingly people in Montreal hated clubbing and were done with it pretty fast.

I'm in Europe right now and here it's a whole other experience. We usually hit the clubs after midnight, there's always really good house music and we can stay until 5, 6 in the morning.

It might be different in the US, but clubbing in Canada is really bad.

BlackCrayon 11-06-2009 06:39 AM

I never went out to clubs. It never interested me. I like to hit the bar now and again but the type of people at 'clubs' are not the type I have any interest in hanging around with (i don't have frosted tips, etc).

rowan 11-06-2009 08:12 AM

We used to laugh when we saw the occasional 30something (and even sometimes older) people in a club full of 18-23 year olds... now I'm 30something myself :helpme:

There's a few "over 28" clubs around here but I haven't been game to try one... I'm over it

$4.50 gets me a whole sixpack of Icehouse!

this new house music hype is the worst music ever... its more lounge music than party music and you see it in the crowds... its 'hip' and 'cool' to just go there, dont have a good time, but just to show yourself that youre there too to all the other followers. People hardly move, it has absolutely zero atmosphere. Worst type of music and hype ive experienced since i was born.

I'd be laughing if you could buy Heineken's for $4.50 at a club here.. we pay closer to $10

Same experience. I almost never club in the US as the bars here close at 2 am. In Brazil we can just be going out at 2 am.
